John started his selling career in life insurance, gaining a number of accolades in the process. After several years of being at the head of successful selling teams he resigned to go back to selling full time. During this time he also commenced his general insurance agency.
It wasn’t long before he was recruited into the real estate profession and after several years of study, as was required in Victoria, he gained his own full real estate license in 1983.
John opened his own office and built up the real estate business and the general insurance to a point where he had one of the largest agencies with the Victorian State Insurance Office (SIO). He was invited by SIO to take a position on the advisory panel to the SIO Ombudsman and held that position for several years. John also served for some time on the board of the Insurance Agents Association of Australia.
John sees his most recognized and proudest achievement as having founded and developed into a national business, the Australian Pensioners Insurance Agency, now generally referred to as Apia. He started Apia as a service to pensioners so they could have affordable insurance. As a result, he was invited to join the Australian Institute of Management and was awarded the status of Associate Fellow.
After selling Apia John concentrated on his real estate career, finally moving to the Gold Coast where he worked for some time with Gold Coast real estate identity Dave Allen before purchasing management rights. Having sold that business John is now again concentrating on his real estate career. John’s experience stands him in good stead and John’s relaxed manner will put you at ease in what can be tense times when selling or buying property.
